How to Prepare for Professional Home Painter’s Visit
The following tips have been generously provided by the Benjamin Moore team in Toronto. Thank you!
The more information shared, the more accurate the painting contractor can be with pricing and a time estimate for your project.
•Request your paint brand preference up front
•Share colour plan with painter & discuss finish options
•Share ALL surfaces you wish to have painted, such as ceilings, trim, doors, inside closets etc…
•Plan to remove any window treatments, furniture, rugs, accessories from the room – if you need assistance, be sure to request this at time of estimate so painting contractor can be prepared and advise of any time/cost issues
•Remove all personal items
•Ask for their plan for removing & replacing electrical switch plates; masking/covering floors/remaining furniture in room
•Ask for their plan for cleaning/prepping surfaces prior to paint
•If multiple days are required, determine an area in your home where painter’s materials/tools can be kept for efficiency
