What distinguishes holistic design from other design traditions?

Holistic interior design is occupant centred and does not rely on trends or high consumption. It effectively addresses how one feels and functions in a space rather than shifting all the attention on how a space “looks”. There are two pillars to this design philosphy: green and healing. Seven tools are used to improve IAQ (Indoor Air Quality) and to set the right Mood & Energy Level in accordance with the Lifestyle intention of each space with reference to the occupant’s aesthetic preferences.

What about decor trends?

As an intuitive designer. I encourage what I refer as “trend energy” vis-a-vis inspired new decor choices as they apply to a client’s space and needs at the time. Change is good.

Is this Feng Shui?

No. A green and healing interior does not depend on this. However, elements of this and other traditions such as Vastu and Earth Medicine can be used in a forward looking manner to achieve a vital and energetic space.

What is meant by “healing design”?

This refers to creating a vital and energetic space: uplifting in active spaces, calm and serene where relaxation is in order. A place where the occupant feels grounded and empowered in a supportive space for a healthy lifestyle away from high consumption and towards creativity and healthy pursuits.

Must natural colors be “earth tones”?

Have you seen a sunrise, the azure blue of the sky or observed a riot of colour in a summer garden? Your color answers are all found in Nature’s vast colour and texture palette.
